Silvio Calabi, author of Hemingway’s Guns, will talk about the famed writer’s ploy to repel German U-boats near Cuba during World War II. Hemingway’s 38-foot sportfisherman and a British-made “elephant gun” played key roles in this scheme, which Hemingway carried out in collaboration with the U.S. Navy.

Larry Ross, who previously entertained him with the story of his Lindbergh Crate Museum in Canaan, Maine, will share the inspiration that has inspired his life and career. Larry worked for many years at Sebasticook Farms, a not-for-profit corporation serving individuals with developmental disabilities and went on to teach in the gifted and talented program at the elementary level for MSAD 54 In Skowhegan, serving three rural schools.
