News from Camden Hills State Park's Manager

Camden Hills State Park Manager Charlene “Sunshine” Hood will update us this coming Tuesday on the many improvements made there in recent years.

Sunshine grew up in Montville, where her parents owned a restaurant, dance hall, store, and many other businesses. Working in the family businesses, she learned carpentry, construction, roofing, electrical, and plumbing skills and eventually built her own house. Her 37-year career in state parks included management roles at Warren Island, Birch Point Beach, and other locations.

Join us from noon to 1 p.m. on September 15 to find out what’s new on Mt. Battie and throughout the park.
